And for more normal dining, so do I.

Jeanne - a good guess. Why not? Except there really is no association with the U.S., or Mexico. This taco was invented by and for North Africans. Still, possible.

Anyway, that association has changed. American food now gets the label "Brooklyn." Brooklyn doughnuts, Brooklyn hamburgers, like that.Amateur Reader (Tom)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13675275555757408496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383938214852108244.post-49385089988026046232017-10-01T08:01:42.725-05:002017-10-01T08:01:42.725-05:00Is the appellation "taco" perhaps relate...Is the appellation "taco" perhaps related to the French idea that any food associated with the U.S. should be called "Tex-Mex"?Jeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17975028272143207826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383938214852108244.post-53368437108072461662017-10-01T03:43:59.025-05:002017-10-01T03:43:59.025-05:00Now I feel like I'm a bad Lyonnaise. Even the one-star restaurants (which we have not tried yet) are more sane. President Macron and a delegation of Italians just had a banquet at a one-star near us that cost 80 euros per person - the price was in the paper!Amateur Reader (Tom)https://www.blogger.com/profile/13675275555757408496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383938214852108244.post-76581026096670050292017-09-30T19:05:13.179-05:002017-09-30T19:05:13.179-05:00If I'm reading the menu correctly if one goes ...If I'm reading the menu correctly if one goes whole hog, so to speak, and gets the grand tradition, it is 275 euros for one. Your mother and I discussed it---although we want to take the two ladies out for their birthdays---this may be a bit extreme--can we find something in the 40 euros for the menu???? Tonight we had a good dinner which included two large pork chops, soup, salad and baked potato. It was a total of $23 with tip and tax for the two of us---we split the $17.99 meal. Although the 200+ euros is likely better, I don't know I could convince myself it is 15 times as good---or I guess that two of us ate for the $23, I doubt they let you split the menu--so it would be over 500 euros for the pair---yikes!!!We arent' ready to settle for the tacos yet so keep looking.Rancher510https://www.blogger.com/profile/14343741339887603774noreply@blogger.com
